About Admissions at Y.A.L.E. School Philadelphia

The admissions team for Y.A.L.E. School Philadelphia makes independent placement decisions, but the referral and application follows a standard multi-step process.

It is the policy of Y.A.L.E. School to discuss all requests for tours received from parents with the sending school district.  Once authorization is received from the district, Y.A.L.E. School will offer parent tours, or virtual tours; they can be arranged on most weekdays. If the family and Y.A.L.E. are interested in pursuing placement after the tour, the admissions coordinator will work in tandem with the sending school district to continue the admissions process.

A referral packet will be provided and an intake interview scheduled.  The interview may include the student, parents or guardians, school district representatives, and Y.A.L.E. School’s professional staff. The admissions team will also arrange for the child to visit the school.

Formal acceptance will take place after a comprehensive review of the student’s most recent IEP or 504 plan and/or student records and notification to the home district.
